JESUS LIVED FOR US (by Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke)

Jesus Christ was a gift to mankind; His whole life was entirely for us. We were His exclusive concern. His life is a flawless example of dedication to mankind. Jesus was totally free of self-interest, and He had only one purpose for being here, us, the people. He did not serve by being a humanitarian, political or social activist. He never gave anybody one penny, simply because He never had any money. Once, when He needed a penny for a sermon-illustration, they had to lend Him one. But He gave people all He had, and that was Himself, His very heart. Out of His hands flowed healing. When He had nothing left, and He couldnÂ’t give any more, He gave His blood, the blood of redemption, the price of our salvation. What He gave was far more than material things, or even healing. He gave Himself. In absolute abandon He met the needs of mankind with Himself. When we had no shepherd, He became the Good Shepherd. When they had no physician, He became the Great Physician. When they had no teac

How the Bible Says to Pray

I am asked quite often how one can pray effectively. This article will show you the way the Word of God tells us to pray. We are going to look at the Greek word pray (prayers, praying and prayed) proseuche and proseuchomai but only in the Mystery Epistles of Paul, Ephesians, Colossians and Philippians. The Greek word proseuche appears in the New Testament 37 times in 37 verses and proseuchomai appears 90 times in 82 verses, this is quite an abundance of uses so I want to limit the study to just the three books of the Apostle Paul also known as the Prison Epistles. We must first start our study with some Greek grammar lessons, very basic for now. When the words proseuche or proseuchomai are used as verbs, or as nouns the verbs that are used with them, are always in the present tense. The present tense represents a simple statement of fact or reality viewed as occurring in actual time and in most cases these correspond directly with the English present tense. Another characteristic of th

Why Speak in Tongues?

(Is Speaking in Tongues of God? Is It for Today?) by Pastor Jim Feeney, Ph.D. “Speaking in tongues”! Just utter that phrase among Christians, and you elicit a wide variety of reactions, sometimes very strong reactions. Bible studies by the thousands have been written for it ... and against it. Many ask a legitimate question: “Is speaking in tongues for today?” Historically, speaking in a tongue (glossolalia) by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit was common among Christians in the first-century Church, then seemed to fade out gradually in succeeding centuries. In the very early twentieth century there came a resurgence of this biblical practice, most notably in Topeka, Kansas, and in revival meetings on Azusa Street in Los Angeles. From those and other places of spiritual renewal came many of today’s leading Pentecostal denominations. Subsequent movements in which speaking in tongues was a prominent feature included the Latter Rain revival, the mid-20th-century healing ministries, the F

Joyce Meyer

Joyce Meyer is one of the most popular Christian personalities in the world and her influence is growing rapidly. With sermons on receiving emotional healing, overcoming the past, freedom from condemnation, and more, Joyce Meyer has grown from an associate pastor at a local St. Louis church to a world wide speaker, author, and conference host. As evidence of this immense influence, the Joyce Meyer ministry now has a daily television program that can be seen by upwards of 2.5 billion people worldwide. In addition, the ministry has a radio program that is available on hundreds of stations throughout North America. Furthermore, Joyce Meyer conferences and seminars are well attended both in America and abroad. The ministry, which once began in the basement of a home, now requires hundreds of employees and millions of dollars a month to operate. However, Joyce Meyer's life is not the story of a women born into success. Rather, it is the story of a life which began amidst horrid parental

Holy Spirit Agenda

Written by: Reinhard Bonnke 26 June 2007 The secret of power is first the baptism in the Holy Spirit, and then to go ahead in faith – be a Moses, be a David facing Goliath, challenge the hosts of Midian, dare to be an Ezra, link arm in arm with the apostles who lit lamps all over the pitch-black world. That is for now. The Holy Spirit has come; He is now here, whereas He was not before. Jesus has sent Him to abide with us. He makes today the day of salvation, the day of the Spirit, the day of great things for God, the day of miracles. Today is the day of new Davids, of Gideons and Ezras and Elishas who knew nothing about the baptism and the abiding Spirit. This is the day for new and greater exploits of faith. We have to catch up if we pray for God to move, for He already has moved and still moves. It is He, who is waiting for us to move. The agenda of the Spirit is the same as that of Jesus. However, what is our agenda? Is it connected with His? Jesus offers us His agenda. “He who bel

JESUS

"This Same Jesus" Christmas is a time to revel, if ever we do revel. The great “I am,” adored by angels, opened the door of Heaven, stepped over the threshold into David’s town of Bethlehem, and entrusted Himself into the arms of an earthly mother who called Him Jesus; His passport name into the kingdom of man. Hidden from the ages, Jesus is our Man; reachable, accessible, and wonderful. He lived a glorious life of triumph, overcame provocation and ignorance and then the fury of human hatred on the Cross. But, God wrote an epilogue. He raised His Son and He ascended to be received in glory. Now comes a wonderful truth; in glory He has kept His earthly name, Jesus. It is the only name there where He has gone. When He left earth, angels assured disciples that He would come back and still be “this same Jesus.” (Acts 1:11) "The Redeemer" How can we fail to celebrate? We have every cause to be glad. At Christmas we indulge in all sorts of good things, but that is because

#1. The Mother Teresa Revelations Once the shock of Doubleday's August disclosure — that Teresa's private letters testified that she could not sense her beloved God for most of her last half-century — had abated, more serious questions could be joined.
