Joyce Meyer

Joyce Meyer is one of the most popular Christian personalities in the world and her influence is growing rapidly. With sermons on receiving emotional healing, overcoming the past, freedom from condemnation, and more, Joyce Meyer has grown from an associate pastor at a local St. Louis church to a world wide speaker, author, and conference host. As evidence of this immense influence, the Joyce Meyer ministry now has a daily television program that can be seen by upwards of 2.5 billion people worldwide. In addition, the ministry has a radio program that is available on hundreds of stations throughout North America. Furthermore, Joyce Meyer conferences and seminars are well attended both in America and abroad. The ministry, which once began in the basement of a home, now requires hundreds of employees and millions of dollars a month to operate. However, Joyce Meyer's life is not the story of a women born into success. Rather, it is the story of a life which began amidst horrid parental abuse by her father and continued through an abusive first marriage. But, in what seemed impossible to many, her life now offers hope of God's transforming power to millions worldwide.

During the 1980's, Joyce Meyer Ministries main means of delivering its message was not via the television, as is the case today. In fact, The Joyce Meyer Life In The Word television program was not around until the early 1990's. Rather, the Joyce Meyer radio program was heard on a large number of stations, covering a large portion of the United States. While the radio program still exists today, it has taken a back seat to the popular television program, which helps millions daily.

Along with the radio program, Joyce Meyer conferences and seminars have been a vital part of the ministry. Today, Joyce Meyer still holds approximately 20 conferences a year in cities throughout America. In recent years, as her ministry has began to impact more lives worldwide, she has begun to hold conferences throughout the world in places like Kenya, England, Russia, and Australia. However, her biggest annual event is the Joyce Meyer Women's Conference, held in the fall in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. At these conferences, Joyce teaches from the Bible on issues such as obedience, fear, joy, condemnation, and more. Joyce is accompanied by a highly skilled and devoted music team which leads the congregation of thousands in worship for about an hour before Joyce begins her teaching. Along with worship and teaching, the conferences also feature opportunities to purchase Joyce Meyer's videos, tapes, and books, of which there are many.

From the early days, Joyce Meyer has always been a prolific author. Her first book, Tell Them I Love Them, was published well before her ministry was nationally known. Today, Joyce has authored more than 60 books on a wide variety of topics. Books by Joyce Meyer include Battlefield of the Mind, How to Hear From God, Knowing God Intimately, Reduce Me to Love, and more. These books all contain numerous scriptures that are seamlessly applied to everyday life through personal stories from Joyce's life.

Although Joyce Meyer's books have impacted thousands, she saw the greatest growth in the influence of her ministry when she began to go on television in the early 1990's. The Joyce Meyer broadcast, Life In The Word, impacted millions of lives worldwide and launched Joyce from a national speaker and author to a worldwide evangelist, conference host, and author. In early 2004, with the goal in mind to reach a new generation, Joyce Meyer renamed her broadcast to Enjoying Everyday Life.

In addition to the change in the ministry name, Joyce Meyer has put extensive effort into capitalizing on the internet. The Joyce Meyer Website, www.joycemeyer.org, provides more content than that of many ministries. It offers Joyce Meyer's Schedule, a daily word, biography, financial information, vision statement, the Joyce Meyer magazine, and more.
